However, some details of the proposed service, which will succeed CanalPlay, have already leaked.
The service will probably be called Canal Series and will cost €6.99 per month. Content will consist of US series from Showtime (which could include Dexter, Homeland and Californication, among others) and FX (American Horror Story, Legion, Breaking Bad, The Americans).
Canal+ terminated its SVOD service CanalPlay last year. Appearing before the Senate Committee on Culture in June 2018, Maxime Saada, chairman and CEO of Canal Plus Group, blamed a regulatory environment for preventing an exclusive deal with Netflix or Amazon that in turn had led to a collapse in subscriber numbers for CanalPlay from 800,000 to 200,000 over two years.
