Croatian pay-TV: the stats

Just under half (44.63%) of homes in Croatia still relied solely on terrestrial TV services as of the end of 2018, according to data published by the regulator HAKOM.

At the same, over a quarter (28.67%) opted for IPTV, 12.04% for cable and 9.71% for DTH, with the remaining 4.95% choosing pay-DTT.

Interestingly, the percentage of homes relying solely on terrestrial TV services was slightly higher than the 44.05% posted a year earlier.

The percentage of IPTV and cable homes grew in 2018 (from 27.94% and 11.43% respectively at the end of 2017), while that of DTH homes fell from the 2017 total of 12.02%.

The pay-DTT share grew, from 4.55% at the end of 2017. HAKOM notes that the pay-TV market in Croatia grew by 4% in 2018 and amounted to over 820,000 subscribers.
