Poland’s Cyfrowy Polsat has no intention of acquiring any more interests in the banking sector.

Speaking to Wirtualne Media, Tomasz Matwiejczuk, spokesman for Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, the company’s founder and owner, said that it remains focused on its main activities, which are in media and telecoms.

He also refused to comment on rumours in the media that Cyfrowy Polsat plans to add to its interests in banking, which currently consist of Plus Bank.

Reports of further acquisitions appeared in the publication Newsweek.

Cyfrowy Polsat is one of the main players in Poland’s electronic communications market and is its leading pay-TV operator.
