Poland’s Cyfrowy Polsat main objective in 2018 is to complete the acquisition of the alternative telco Netia and make the most possible gains from the thematic channels acquired from ZPR Media, according to Tobias Solorz, the company’s president.

Speaking in a press conference following the release of Cyfrowy Polsat’s latest set of results and quoted by Wirtualne Media, he added that it had achieved all its objectives in 2017.

The results show that the company ended 2017 with 13,685,044 contracted RGUs, or 3.2% more than a year. Of these, 4,942,640 (+3.7%) were for pay-TV, and 1,099,582 (+7.6%) of this figure opted for Multiroom. ARPU was PLN89 (€21), or 1.9% less than a year earlier, and churn 8.8% (+0.5 percentage point).

Quoted in the results release, Solorz expressed particular satisfaction with the 430,000 increase in contracted services and continued interest in packaged services. He also noted that multiplay services are now received by over 1.5 million of its customers.

The Cyfrowy Polsat group had revenues of PLN9,829 million in 2017, or 15 more than a year earlier, while its EBITDA was 0.7% down at PLN3,617 million. Its net profit amounted to PLN945.2 million.
