Foss takes over from Gunnar Evensen, who is leaving the company at his own volition.
“Abraham has all the leadership skills that are required to continue the successful development of Telia in Norway. We are facing an exciting time as a strong challenger in the Norwegian market, where we will deliver convergent customer services to both individuals and businesses. We have a history unparalleled in Norway when it comes to creating value through mergers, and we will continue with that,” says Johan Dennelind, CEO, Telia Company.
Abraham Foss has been CEO of Telia’s Norwegian operations since 2015. He has extensive experience from various advisory and management roles in and outside the telecom industry.
“I am very pleased to have the opportunity to lead the new company, and I look forward to working with both skilled new and well-known colleagues. We are well positioned to challenge and create value for all our customers and I promise that in our next phase of this exciting journey we will work even harder to become the preferred choice in the Norwegian market, “says Abraham Foss.
Evensen started in Get TDC in 1998 and has been managing director since 2000. He leaves the position immediately, but will remain in the company until the merger is completed.
“Gunnar has successfully positioned Get TDC as a leading provider of broadband and television services in Norway. I appreciate the values he has created and his efforts in this first merger phase. I wish him all good luck with further challenges, “says Johan Dennelind.
“The decision to move on has matured since this summer. It’s hard to leave such an exciting company with such talented employees, but it’s a time for everything and now I want to go out for new adventures. This merger is industrially correct and Telia is the best owner to continue our successful journey, “says Gunnar Evensen.
Mark Ivin, currently CFO of Get TDC, will, in addition to his current work, act as CEO of Get TDC until the merger in the first quarter of 2019.
