French public. broadcaster France Télévisions is forced to drop two DTT channels, France 4 and France Ô, in order to meet budget cuts,

France Télévisions will have to save EUR160 million by 2022, Radio France EUR20 million, and Arte and INA a further EUR10 million, bringing the total cuts on public broadcasting to EUR190 million.

According to Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, the roadmap drawn up by the Minister of Culture, Françoise Nyssen, at the beginning of June for new investments in media – EUR560 million investment in creation, EUR150 million in the digital offer as well as a tripled budget for regional programming on France 3 and synergies with France Bleu – is maintained.

The two public channels, France 4 and France Ô, will have to leave the French DTT network, which they call TNT, by 2020.
