uSwitch, which encourages consumers to use its site to change their broadband provider, also says residents on Abdon Avenue in Birmingham can enjoy the fastest speeds.
The Bournville district can offer an average download speed of 265Mbps, compared with the 0.14Mbps in Greenmeadows Park that makes TV streaming problematic to say the least.
More than a quarter of homes (26.3 per cent) still receive speeds of less than 10Mbps, which has been defined by regulator Ofcom as the minimum required for a decent browsing experience – while one in eight (13.3 per cent) cannot even exceed 5Mbps.
uSwitch says its research also suggests consumers to be unaware of the speeds available to them. Even though 95 per cent of properties in the UK are now able to access superfast broadband of at least 24Mbps, only 56 per cent of Brits believe this is available in their area.
