In a statement, NMHH says that Magyar Telekom completed a new communications network in the town of Ercsi in March 2017. However, it was only notified about this after the public.
Furthermore, the network was completed after the expiry of the required date.
Magyar Telekom then began offering services on the network in May 2017 and continued to do so illegally for 11 months, giving it a competitive edge.
NMHH has also imposed a fine of HUF3 million on the CEO of the service.
In addition, it has drawn attention to the fact that it has imposed several fines on the telco for similar offences in the past, as well as one on UPC in January this year.
Magyar Telekom has the right to appeal against the latest fine within 15 days of its notification.
