Speaking to Broadband TV News at IBC 2018, Jacob Keret, Sr. VP sales Europe, NA and ME, said that it will cover sub Saharan Africa and that the company has already secured a major deal with an international operator.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, the deal with the unnamed client is worth around $55 million.
Commenting on other developments at Spacecom, Keret added that the plan to build Amos-8 are still in place and the company will finalise a contract in the next few months.
Spacecom is currently fulfilling the needs of its customers through Amos-3 and 7, and business in Europe is stable.
Its main presence in CEE is in Ukraine, where the company has partnered with StarMediaGroup, and Hungary, where its customer Magyar Telekom has 200,000 DTH subscribers.
